The internet domain .com is 25 years old

Slovenia’s internet domain name is .si - and it is popular. There are about 100,000 domain names ending in .si in Slovenia. That’s not true for some other endings Slovenia could have gotten. Like .sl which is the domain name for Sierra Leone. It’s not popular there. In the meantime, .sv is taken by El Salvador, and .so belongs to Somalia. Slovenia could also have taken .sj (since the original name of the country has a J in it) but that’s been reserved by Svalbard and Jan Mayen, an arctic archipelago and volcanic island run by Norway. However, there’s not much use for the domain name .. so it’s inactive.
