Last year, the Park was visited by 41,000 people. This number will certainly be surpassed this year. After all, the museum and its various exhibits have been seen by 20 percent more people in the first six months than in the same period last year. The park has become increasingly familiar to foreign visitors and represents and important addition to the tourist product in this part of the Primorska region.
The Park of Military history is now Slovenia's largest museum-entertainment complex in Slovenia. The number of visitors is growing from year to year. Most of the visitors come from Slovenia – they tend to make the most visits in the springtime and in the fall, while in the summer, the museum gets many foreign visitors on their way to Croatia's' Adriatic Coast.
Museum head Janko Boštjančič: The park truly offers a lot. There is no other military museum on a European scale that gives visitors a chance to see everything from a prehistoric bow to a military locomotive from World War II, military planes, submarines, and so on. Each visitor can discover something that interests them and we don't have truly unsatisfied visitors."
Objects on display as well as various exhibitions provide an overview of military history. On average, visitors spend at least three hours in the park. For those coming from distant places and in need of a relaxing break, an RV park is now also available.
