The 23rd annual event called Gradovi Kralja Matjaža or the Castles of King Matjaž took place under the Peca Mountain yesterday. It saw a team competition in building snow castles and snow sculptures linked to the legend of King Matjaž.
Around 50 teams from Slovenia and abroad took part in the competition. In the evening the castles were illuminated with candles and torches.
Organizers were happy to see the return of the King Matjaž event after last year's cancellation due to a lack of snow.
