The special summer timetable in air traffic came into force, with some novelties.
On April Adria Airways is launching a new link to Cologne in Germany, operating three scheduled flights a week. According to the new timetable Adria will also fly to 19 other destinations – to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Wien, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, London, Manchester, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Podgorica, Prague, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Stockholm, Warsaw and Zürich, Aerodrom Ljubljana informed us.
As of March 1 six flights a week are scheduled to Warsaw, operated by the Polish carrier Lot. The other foreign airlines will keep their winter destinations also during summer. Turkish Airlines, marking the 10th anniversary of flights to Slovenia, is increasing the number of its weekly flights to Istanbul from 10 to 14.
Passengers can choose one of 14 flights a week from Ljubljana to Belgrade operated by with Air Serbia, or fly to Paris any day of the week with Air France. Low cost carriers Easyjet and Wizz Air will fly to London also in summer – the former every first day to Stansted Airport, and the latter four times a week to Luton Airport. Wizz Air will also fly twice a week to Brussels Charleroi Airport. Montenegro Airlines will be linking Ljubljana with Montenegro's capital Podgorica six times a week.
As of 15 June, a new regular carrier is coming to Ljubljana Airport, i.e. Aegean Airlines from Greece, which will operate two scheduled flights a week to Athens.
The number or charter lines will be comparable to last year. It seems that in summer seven air carriers will offer flights to 21 destinations.
