The distinguished lifetime achievement award will given to Belak at the 50th Borštnik Meetings, which will take place between the 15th and 25th of October in Maribor.

"Energetic, suggestive, devoted, articulate, humouristic, full-blooded, creative, unobtrusive, nuanced, heartbreaking… All those are words, most frequently used to describe the artistic expression of Ljerka Belak," says the jury’s explanation.
"It’s always nice to get awards, but especially nice to get one like this," was Belak’s reaction to the news of her receiving this year’s Borštnik Rinkg. "Theater is one of the most wonderful things in the world, even though it eats you whole," are Belak’s thoughts.
The retired actress was born in Ljubljana. She acted in almost all of Slovenia’s professional theaters. Between the years 1971 and 1993 she was employed in the SLG Slovenian People’s Theater in Celje, where she commuted by bus for many years. After that she joined the acting group of the MGL Ljubljana City Theater.
