The capital Ljubljana recorded around 200,000 visitors in the past 24 hours. New Year celebrations were held on four of the city's squares. Those gathered enjoyed the acts of Nuša Derenda, Alenka Godec, Jan Plestenjak, Happy ol' McWeasel, Oto Pestner, Alfi Nipič and many others. Among the visitors ther were also many foreigners.
Around 12,000 people awaited the New Year in Celje. The Modrijani folk-pop ensemble is most credited for attracting the record crowd in Celje.
Maribor's Leon Štukelj Square was also packed with 10,000 people, who were entertained by Mi2 and other rock bands.
