"Already in the first run I made too many mistakes," she said. "Nothing was easy. It was challenging to ski. The second run I felt tired, I don’t have endless energy. I wanted to, I tried, but it simply didn’t work." Maze finished more than a second behind Austria’s Anna Fenninger.

Now boasting two gold medals and one silver, Maze on Saturday has the chance to take a fourth tomorrow in the slalom, which Fenninger will not participate in.
