After a good hour of play, the 27-year-old midfielder from Mostar beat the helpless Maribor goalkeeper Jasmin Handanović to bring Olimpija into the lead after Dino Hotic (Maribor) and Andres Vombergar (Olimpija) had previously scored for a tied result.

Olimpija’s victory has cut into the total lead of Maribor in the championship, bringing it down to only two points. In the leagues next (15th) round, Maribor will play in Celje, and Olimpija will face Domžale at the Stožice Arena.
