The current average occupancy stands at 63 percent, which is better than last year. What's also encouraging is that 70 percent of guests are foreigners, points out Venčeslav Tušar, the president of the Association of Tourist Farms of Slovenia, for Slovenian Press Agency. The current data indicate discrepancies between regions.
Tourist farms in the Primorska, Gorenjska and Štajerska regions are best visited and have high occupancy, while farms in Bela krajina and Dolenjska accommodate few tourists.
Slovenian tourist farms market their offers through the association's web site and on their own web pages, many opt for presentations at fairs at home and abroad, and more and more farms turns to social media for promotional activities. Typical visitors of tourist farms are families with children of all ages, as well as older individuals.
