Twelve countries are taking part in a meeting of the Three Seas Initiative, which connects countries between the Baltic, the Black, and the Adriatic Seas and was created on the initiative of the Polish President Andrzej Duda and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović. U.S. President Donald Trump is a special guest of the conference, which is also attended by the Slovenian President Borut Pahor. According to Croatian sources, the Croatian President informed Trump about Croatia’s decision to reject the arbitration ruling regarding the border between Slovenia and Croatia.
In Ljubljana, Plenković will avoid the arbitration issue
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković plans to continue talks about unresolved issues between Croatia and Slovenia when he visits Ljubljana on July 12. However, he will not discuss implementing the Court of Arbitration’s decision regarding the border between the two countries.
During a cabinet meeting, the Croatian Prime Minister announced that he will travel to Ljubljana accompanied by two Deputy Prime Ministers: Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić and Economy Minister Martine Dalić.
Plenković explained that the team will insist on Croatia’s well-known positions. They are based on a 2015 decision of the Croatian Parliament, which decided to withdraw from the negotiation process because of “unlawful actions of the Slovenian side.”
