In the study year 2013/2014 more than 79,000 students were enrolled in Slovenia, almost 66,000 as full-time, and more than 13,500 as part-time students.

Last year the largest part of part-time students studied at the independent higher education institutions, i.e. 56% of all part time students enrolled in higher education institutions.
The Higher Education Act and the statutes of the Slovenian Universities are treating part-time students in the same way as full-time students. They have for the most part the same rights and the same obligations. Possible differences can be noticed at individual subjects, e.g. the course load, the number of seminars, exercises etc.
