Radio Slovenija reports that an unvaccinated child was diagnosed with measles in July and that the child contracted the virus abroad. A similar case occurred in Slovenia at the beginning of this year when a child, who also contracted the virus abroad, infected five others.

According to the World Health Organisation, 35 people died of measles this year across Europe. The most recent case was a six-year old child from Italy, where 3,300 cases of measles and two deaths have been reported in the last 12 months. There were 31 deaths caused by measles in Romania, while one death case was reported in both Germany and Portugal.
