The coordinator of the European People's Party (EPP) Wim van de Camp posted on Twitter that Bulc got the green light by committee members. His group added that she must enhance her knowledge of the protfolio as soon as possible.

Coordinator of Socialists (S & D) at the Committee, Ismail Ertug, confirmed her appointment by saying that his group backed Bulc and that she now must keep her promises of sustainability and social aspects of the transport sector.

Coordinators have reached a unanimous deal so a full committe vote will not be necessary. Bulc presented her views on the transport sector at a three hour hearing in the European Parliament yesterday.

A final vote on the entire Juncker Commission could be finalized as soon as tomorrow, so the new Commission could begin its work on 1 November, as planned.
