Saša Zagorac, a rookie in the national team, gave the best description of the atmosphere in the Zagreb Arena, and of the hearty support the Slovenian fans offer to our basketball players. "I feel great here at the European championship, and we all feel at home," he said, and after the match against Georgia he added: "I believe we have broken the ice, and we will play better every next match."
"Home" Arena
The basketball players can actually feel at home in Zagreb, as a great number of fans support them on every match. In two days 9,000 fans gathered in the Arena hall. The Slovenian fans, mostly dressed in green and equipped with various requisites, won the title of the best supporters in Zagreb with their uproarious cheering. During the first match they even drowned the cheering of the larger number of Croatian fans. During the entire second match against Georgia they offered their hearty and loud support to the Slovenian players.
