Slovenia has a lot to offer and it can satisfy many different tastes. That is why it is not surprising that promoting the country as a gastronomic destination is one of the goals of the development strategy of Slovenian tourism. The release of the gastronomic guide, therefore, coincides with this idea.
“It is important to emphasize that Slovenia offers quality food, food full of flavour, including organic products,” says tourism expert, Maja Uran Maravič.
In the next edition, they want to emphasize the best Slovenian oil production companies, agro-tourism and boutique manufacturer of dry-cured products and cheeses, which contributes to an overall culinary image.
The names of 130 restaurants and pubs, 50 wine cellars, 15 microbrewers, and 50 so-called popular places, for example; confectionery, pizzerias, which are included in the guide – which is going to be available in both English and Slovene – will be known on November 20. The evaluation will be anonymous.
