The lawsuit was filed by Trigranit, a Hungarian-Canadian company. Trigranit asked the court to terminate a construction agreement between them and SŽ, but the Vienna-based Court turned down Trigranit’s requests. SŽ said in a statement that they are still studying the verdict. They believe that the premises will be returned to SŽ. The state-owned company would like to finish the construction of the Emonika Passenger Centre in Ljubljana. For the project to go ahead, SŽ will have to strike a deal with Trigranit.
SŽ suffered a financial loss after Trigranit withdrew from the contract. As a result, SŽ filed a lawsuit claiming damages of 76 million euros. SŽ will decide whether the project will go ahead before the end of 2015.
