The Italian town of Duino, which lies just across the border from Slovenia, will host a wine festival called Mare e Vitovska / Morje in vitovska on Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For 30 euros, attendees can sample the best Vitovska wines from Slovenia and Italy. The festival will also feature a “show cooking” area.
The Dreams in Medana (Sanje v Medani) festival got underway in Medana, a village in the Gorizia Hills. The event, which runs from Friday to Saturday, will feature a number of cultural and wine-related events. Festival passes can be purchased for €25 a pop.
SladoLent, the culinary part of the Lent Festival, the biggest festival in Maribor, traditionally showcases the best of Slovenian culinary talent. Foodies can treat their taste buds to some great street food on Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight. Wine aficionados can also sample local wines by the glass.
