An international jury of five renowned professional musicians and artists, including the Slovenian conductor and professor Uroš Lajovic, evaluated 14 young musicians. Urban has already performed on Monday. The second part of the presentation was held on Tuesday, when every musician had to play a 15-minute recital.

The competition Eurovision Young Musicians has been delighting audiences since 1982. It is the only European classical music competition, which is being broadcast all over Europe. It is also considered to be one of the most important international classical music competitions. The event is dedicated to the best young musicians up to the age of 19 and it is organized by the European Federation of radio and television stations (EBU).

Urban Stanič began attending piano lessons at the Intermezzo Academy of Music at the age of three. He is currently in his third year of piano classes with prof. Lydia Malahotky Haas and is also a student of the Bežigrad high school in Ljubljana.

Stanič has received the first prize at the 8th international competition of young pianists of Zlatko Grgošević in Zagreb in mid-May. He was competing against 130 pianists and has excelled in playing Haydn's sonata in C-dur Hob. XVI/50.
