For more than 30 years now skiers have had the possibility to vote for the best ski resorts in the country, and the results of this year’s Naj smuščišče – or Best Ski Resort awards were announced last week. Organized by Radio Si, Radio Maribor, Radio Koper, and the Dobro Jutro web portal, awards were given out for the best ski resorts in 4 categories: best small, medium-sized and large ski resorts, as well as an award for best foreign ski resort.

On February 26th 1992, almost 26,000 people, including some 5,400 children, were illegally erased from the register of permanent residents of Slovenia. President Borut Pahor on Friday offered them a formal apology.

The 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing official closed on Sunday and they will be remembered as very successful for Slovenia. Slovenia won seven Winter Olympic medals in Beijing, which is Slovenia’s second best medal tally at the Winter Olympics. Two of them were gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
