Slovenia was marking Europe Day celebrations yesterday. There was a number of events taking place around the country. This this year, the focus was on promoting green transition, sustainability and the European Year of Skills.
Archaeologists in Sweden have recently come across a "unique" discovery - well-preserved spices at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The spices, ranging from saffron to pepercorns and ginger, were found in the wreckage of a ship that sunk off Sweden's coast more than 500 years ago. On Sunday, Parisians voted to ban electric rental scooters. Since their introduction in 2018, self-service scooters have built a following among people, including tourists, who don't want or can't afford their own but like the option to escape the Metro and other public transport. This will make Paris the first European capital to completely ban such service.

The number of commercial flights in Slovenia last year was 41% below the 2019 average - the biggest drop in the EU. The Ministry of Infrastructure announced state subsidies for ten routes in a bid to increase the number of flights in Slovenia. The priority list includes ten destinations. Last month, the Slovenian Employment Agency published new subsidies worth 23,7 million euro that aim to encourage employers to hire young people for an indefinite period. Sandi Meke, who coordinates services for employers at the Employment Service of Slovenia says the project's main goal is to support the transition of youth from the school system into the labor market. The European Commission has banned its staff from using Tik Tok on their phones and corporate devices. The commission said it was implementing measures to "protect data and increase cybersecurity".
