"In its letter Cinven explained that taking into account several important developments, which have happened since their June purchasing bid for a 72,75 percent stake in Telekom Slovenija, they no longer deem the transaction economically feasible," said the Slovenian Sovereign Holding press release.

Cinven added that its decision was also influenced by the unfavourable environment for future Telekom investments created by the Agency for Communication Networks and Services, European regulation, which lowers roaming profits, and "the changes in Slovenia's business environment, which would not have a positive effect on the company' results – changes which Cinven failed to take into account in its purchasing bid".

The Slovenian Sovereign Holding has now ended Telekom's sales procedure. At the same time it assured the development of best corporate practices in the company.
