A number of civil society and non-governmental organisations that have formed an initiative dubbed the Voice of the People has addressed a number of concrete requests connected to the rule of law, welfare, climate change, housing policy and the elderly, ahead of the general election, scheduled for 24 February next year. They called on political parties to take their position. The initiave already consists of 57 visible organisations.

Nine Slovenian regions have entered the Covid-19 red tier. That means all of Slovenia except the Posavska, South-Eastern, and Goriška regions, will see the opening of kindergartens and the first three grades of primary school, museums, libraries, galleries, auto mechanics, technical goods stores, sports, stores, children’s clothing stores, florists, book shops and ski centres. PM Janša said the schools will reopen for the youngest on Tuesday, with Monday dedicated to Covid-19 testing for teachers.
